Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sensharma shared memorable on-screen chemistry in the 2009 romantic comedy ‘Wake Up Sid’, which received praise from all quarters. Ayan Mukerji’s direction has become a cult classic that has somehow played a crucial role in boosting Kapoor’s career in the past.
Now, a behind-the-scenes video of the duo, possibly from a film set or commercial shoot, has reignited fans’ excitement about seeing their reunion on screen and raised hopes for a Wake Up Sid sequel.
The viral Reddit video shows Kapoor, Sen Sharma, Namit Das and Shikha Talsania, the friends of the film’s protagonist, doing something together. The Sanju star appears dressed casually in a blue shirt and cream pants, while Sen Sharma channels her iconic look as Aisha from the hit film in a white kurta, jeans and a dupatta. Namit and Shikha’s ensemble reflects the style of their original characters from the film.
It is important to mention that neither the actor nor the Brahmastra filmmaker have confirmed or denied the possibility of a second part. However, several Indian news portals confirmed that the video in question was a promotional clip from an advertisement.
The telecast of the video made netizens want to see Ranbir and Konkona together on screen again. ‘Please both make a film. Sid and Ayesha should be back,” one Reddit user asked, citing nostalgic sentiments. Others shared this view and expressed interest in a sequel that explores the duo’s lives fifteen years later. Moreover, fans praised the Aaja Nachle star’s directorial skills and imagined her directing Kapoor in a film.
