This is the second attack on the PTI election campaign in 24 hours. The day before, a bomb destroyed a PTI meeting in Sibi, killing at least four people and wounding five others, according to police and witnesses.

Saddam Tireen, the PTI candidate for NA-253 NA-253 NA-253 NA, who led the rally on Jinnah Road, escaped unhurt. The injured were taken to Sibi District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Police said initial investigations indicated an improvised explosive device (IED) had been planted on a motorcycle parked on the side of the road. The IED exploded with considerable force as the PTI rally passed through the area, they added.

After the blast, all shops and markets along the main road to Jinnah were closed. The police cordoned off the area and started an investigation. After the incident, security measures in Sibi and the surrounding area were strengthened.
