Model Rumy Alqahtani, 27, will make history by representing Saudi Arabia for the first time at the prestigious Miss Universe pageant, the Khaleej Times reported.
Alqahtani, a veteran beauty pageant contestant and influencer followed by millions on Instagram, took to the social media platform on Monday to share her exciting news.
“It is an honor to participate in the Miss Universe 2024 competition. It is the debut of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this competition,” she explained in Arabic on her Instagram account.
Her announcement was accompanied by images of Alqahtani in royal attire, embodying the epitome of a beauty queen. Adorned with a strapless sequin dress, a tiara on her head and draped with the Saudi flag.
Hailing from Riyadh, Alqahtani has participated in several prestigious pageants during her forays into global beauty pageants, including the recent Miss and Mrs Global Asian pageant held in Malaysia a few weeks ago.
