Saturday Night Live dropped a new promo featuring Dua Lipa and Mikey Day, getting fans excited for the upcoming weekend episode.
The hilarious clip was released on screens on Thursday, May 2. In the promo, Day, 44, recalled his Wild n Out days when the One Kiss hitmaker turned down his offer to help him with his music style.
As previously reported, the 28-year-old Albanian singer will pull double duty on the Saturday, May 8 episode of SNL. She opened the promo with her introduction.
Just as the “Levitating” star was wrapping up her debut, Day stepped in and offered her help: “You know, if you’re too tired to make music, that’s okay. I am prepared to intervene.”
“Oh, I didn’t know you did music,” Lipa’s unimpressed response prompted the comedian to brag about his freestyle rap skills, which culminated in his role on the show MTV battle rap comedy.
She dismisses Day’s musical ambitions with charm and humor: “You know, I think we’ll be fine.”
“Oh, you’re not going to ask me to spit something out?” Lipa’s confident reassurance leaves the SNL regular a little offended, to which he quickly recovers, “Okay. Wow. There’s no way Dua Lipa will ask me to spit anything out.
The banter between Lipa and Day is sure to get SNL fans excited for the next episode.
